Smithyfields Campsite is a small adult only camping site with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, the site offers grass only pitches, electric hook-up, toilets, hot showers and a chemical disposal point, we also have firepits available to hire!
The village of Alstonefield sits above the valley, perfectly nestled between Dovedale and Wolfescote Dales, also a short drive or walk to the Tissington Trail and the Manifold Valley, along with the countless walking routes right on the doorstep.
The campsites occupies a central village location, yet remains secluded and private, situated close to the A515 road that runs between the ancient market towns of Ashbourne and Buxton, its the perfect place to explore all the area has to offer.

GETTING HERE
Getting here is easy using our postcode DE6 2FY, which brings you straight into the village.
If arriving along Lode Lane simply take the first left and immediately left again.
Follow the sign for Smithy fields up a tarmac driveway past the houses to the entrance gates and you are here!
NOTE FOR LARGER VEHICLES
its advisable that those in larger set-ups such as caravans or large motorhomes take the alternative route by coming via Hartington, continue along the A515 until you see signs for Hartington, (do not turn for Biggin) and come into the village of Alstonefield via Hulme-End.
Follow Rakes Road down into the village until it bears left, once around the corner you will see the Smithyfields sign accross from the village green. (right at the T-rex dinosaur statue) this is a less narrow route and more suitable for wider/longer vehicles and those less confident towing.
